Youth Without Shelter (YWS) is an emergency residence and referral agency serving homeless youth aged 16 to 24. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, YWS believes in second chances, building confidence and teaching life skills to empower youth to break the cycle of homelessness. It provides the basic necessities of life - but it also steps well beyond the basics, to offer support and training programs and a unique educational opportunity for youth who want to finish school. Our vision is ending homelessness... one youth at a time, one step at a time.
Youth Without Shelter is proud to be a sister agency with Youth Emergency Shelter Society (YESS) in Edmonton Alberta. This partnership facilitates the sharing of best practices and learnings in the areas of client services, funds development and facilities management.
Awards
Youth Without Shelter is the proud recipient of the Ontario Association of Hostel's Major Leonard Frost Award for demonstrating exemplary initiative in enabling clients of hostel services to become integrated members of the community.
Youth Without Shelter has recently been awarded the Toronto Community News "Urban
Heroes Award" in the Community Category for outstanding service to the people of
