Volunteer today,

build for tomorrow

"As all those volunteer moments add up you realize just how much good we can do when we work together."

YWS Board Member, David Mielke

At Youth Without Shelter, we welcome the involvement of individuals and community groups that share our commitment to helping end homelessness, one person at a time, one step at a time.  There are many ways you can get involved and show that your community cares.  We offer options that will be of interest to the community as a whole, and options specifically designed for youth to support their community.

Volunteering, imagine the benefits.  Through YWS volunteer projects, you have a unique opportunity to develop or refine the following skills:

* Civic involvement

* Organization

* Team work

* Administration

* Leadership

And volunteering is a great way to socialize, to network, and to meet new people who share your commitment.

Youth Without Shelter offers a small number of on-site opportunities for you to volunteer such as serving on our board, offering weekend meals, or sharing a skill you have developed.  Perhaps you are a teacher, hairdresser, a yoga instructor, or an artist - these are skills you can share at Youth Without Shelter.  If cooking is your thing, you might be interested to know that for many years, individuals, faith groups, employee teams and community groups have volunteered to prepare Saturday, Sunday or seasonal holiday lunches or dinners for our residents.  You can bring your food to cook on site, or you can bring food you prepared elsewhere.

However, there are an unlimited number of ways you can organize and help out with events that raise the profile of our services and the youth we serve, while raising much needed funds to help us continue our mission.  Click on Third Party Events to see the opportunities for the community and for youth to help provide solutions to youth homelessness.
